STRATEGIC BUSINESS ADVISORY
FIND WHAT OTHERS MISS
A clearer path to what’s next.
I help business leaders uncover the opportunities inside their companies
they’re often too close to see.
Opportunity Scout is a strategic business advisory practice that helps owners and leadership teams identify hidden opportunities across customer experience, positioning, retention, employee alignment, sales and marketing, and business growth.
SEE CLEARLY. DECIDE CONFIDENTLY.
EXPLORE WHAT’S POSSIBLE ↘
01 / THE CHALLENGE
You know there’s
more in the business.
You just can’t quite see what’s standing in the way.
-
The capabilities are there. The momentum isn’t.
-
You see the churn number. The reasons are less clear.
-
The business has evolved. The market’s understanding hasn’t.
-
Good people are working hard in different directions.
02 / THE BLIND SPOTS
The biggest opportunities
live in the gaps.
Between the business you believe you’re running and the one people actually experience. That’s where I look.
Opportunity Scout evaluates the gaps between leadership assumptions, employee execution, customer experience, and market perception to uncover friction, unmet needs, hidden strengths, and growth opportunities.
01
What leadership
believes
02
What employees
deliver
03
What customers
experience
04
What the market
perceives
Inside those gaps are signals. Friction. Unmet needs. And your next opportunity.
03 / A DIFFERENT KIND OF ADVISOR
Before deciding what to change,
find out what’s really happening.
I’m an Opportunity Scout. I step into your business with fresh eyes, ask the questions that aren’t getting asked, and connect what leadership, employees, customers, and the market are telling us.
Then we turn those discoveries into a clear set of priorities—so your next move is grounded in understanding.
04 / THE SCOUT METHOD™
Get closer. See further.

Curiosity in the field.
Clarity at the table.
05 / WHAT YOU LEAVE WITH
Clarity you can
do something with.
Fresh perspective only matters if it helps you move forward. We’ll provide peace of mind or a piece of the puzzle.
-
Understand what’s working, what’s creating friction, and what you’ve been missing.
-
Give your team a shared view of the challenge and the opportunity.
-
Know where to put your attention, energy, and investment next.
I've always looked at business a little differently.
I'm Johnny Pratt, the founder of Opportunity Scout.
Throughout my career, I've worked across nearly every corner of business, from retail floors and cold calling to product development, operations, marketing leadership, and brand strategy.
But one thing has remained constant: I've always been interested in what business feels like from the customer's perspective.
I've seen how easily companies can become consumed by growth targets, internal priorities, and financial performance while gradually losing sight of the people who made their success possible.
I created Opportunity Scout to help leaders rediscover that perspective, uncover what they may be missing, and build businesses that customers genuinely want to come back to.
My approach is simple: get closer, ask better questions, challenge assumptions, and find what others miss.
Meaning over Marketing.

BEFORE WE START SCOUTING
Questions worth asking before the next move.
-
An Opportunity Scout provides an outside perspective on a business to identify hidden opportunities, customer experience gaps, positioning challenges, organizational misalignment, and assumptions leadership may be too close to see.
-
Opportunity Scout is designed for business owners, executives, and leadership teams who believe their organization has greater potential but need a clearer understanding of what's helping—or preventing—the business from moving forward.
-
Traditional consulting often begins with a defined problem and proposed solution. Opportunity Scout begins with discovery—talking with leadership, employees, customers, and observing the market before determining what deserves attention.
-
Common areas include customer churn, weak differentiation, stalled growth, customer experience friction, sales and marketing disconnects, employee alignment, brand positioning, and overlooked growth opportunities.
-
An engagement typically includes business immersion, stakeholder conversations, customer and employee research, observation, analysis, and an Opportunity Map that identifies findings, patterns, and recommended priorities.
